@RestoredSparda They work together a bunch. Mostly for that "last mile", but this is flat out just a USPS hand off. And then two different tracking numbers.
I'd still rather have my stuff in UPS and USPS hands than FedEx. They are atrocious around here. FedEx leaves my shit down by my mail box basically on the street even if I ask nicely not to. UPS and USPS walk up my driveway and leave stuff by my garage without ever asking.
I think the USPS hate on these forums is overblown and the real answer is "it depends". In my area FedEx sucks the most and years ago when I lived in LA, DHL was a shit show.
It's certainly region dependent from experience. Years ago when I lived in Florida FedEx were great USPS was good and UPS was horrible. That was like 2003-2008 though.
Shipping stuff for years, all the major shippers can have shipments go off the rails for a lot of different factors. For me what matters is CS afterwards and honestly I would rate it UPS>FedEx>USPS. USPS as of late for me has been so scam riddled its insane.
For UPS Shure Post, times I have gotten shipments with that option, its like I can guarantee whatever my package was, its going to take like an extra week to arrive. Feel like that option is, "Whenever your post office feels like delivery"
USPS has always been near flawless for me. For larger packages though, UPS is usually better, but Ground is slow AF, but not nearly as slow as FedEx Ground.
I have a package from the UK which was lost by USPS in Mid-May, still can't even make a claim because it's international, and whenever the undefined waiting period ends, I have to go argue with my local branch manager. No phone service allowed.
