    In my book, verite differentiates itself from all others in unique presentation, rather than surpasses or outperforms others (indeed it does in many criteria though). I can't comfortably recommend to blindly jump into verite and for its price I shouldn't. At this level, preference and taste override any technical differences imho. That said, if you experienced headphone audio quite a bit and formed a certain set of philosophies, it's worth giving a shot to.

    Done deal. There is a wide body of reviews and impressions that support Verite at the top of the heap albeit with others.
    I won't be nitpicking at this price range. Torq likes it enough to consider buying a second one. You, he and others give enough info vis a vis other candidates to convince me. I do hear what you say but am unconcerned enough to make this my last headphone purchase of the decade.
