Every brand new set of HE-6 comes with a balanced xlr terminated cable, right?

It is. But what's coming in is actually an 'ODL' Stratos clone. That company has since been sued by Odyssey and receded into the fold.

Lookin' forward to hearing PTS' impressions.

Today is my last day with the loaner moon 430. I've heard it called boring & can understand that. It's almost to polite. Very detailed and smoothest treble I've heard. But I haven't heard many hi-end amps. I still prefer the speaker amp with the he-6 just for that extra kick on the low end. The 430 just didn't have that. 560's were really good though

Yep, it was made by the company who were once partners with Klaus at Odyssey. Getting an amp if this caliber for $450 was pretty sweet, it's due to arrive soon. Testing speakers first, as my HE-6 and headphones adapter will likely arrive later.

The amp is 150w per channel at 8ohms, anyone know what that is at 50ohms?

I've been talking to Jeff @ Wells Audio about the 'Milo' which is supposed to be a more affordable version of the HeadTrip, or possibly just an entry level HP amp. Specs are 15W & 32ohm (2-3W Class A, switching to A/B). Anyone get to hear it at CanJam, or have experience with Wells Audio? I continue to look for powerful (USED*) speaker amps, but like the idea of a dedicated HP amp that can power the HE-6 similarity.

There's a brief comment about the milo on hf. Pretty outstanding I believe is what they said. I'm also interested in this amp. 1.5k is rumored price.

Jeff 'confirmed' the $1,500 as well. I guess we'll find out in 6-8 weeks.

I used my own HE-6 with this amp at CJ. It sounded like utter garbage. I guess someone's trash is another's treasure.

If the Headtrip sounds similar to the Milo at $14k, that would be a complete joke.

Jeff Wells seems like a nice enough guy, but when I mentioned I have a First Watt amp, he said "Nelson Pass doesn't know how to design amps. My baby will destroy anything he has to offer".

I actually thought something was broken with the HeadTrip. (One of the channels [don't remember which amp] had a slightly buzzing too [with the Abyss] at the Bay Area Meet.) The initial first ten seconds sounded unique, but something sounded plainly wrong after that. The characteristic sound signature was something to that of being underwater (borrowing from @drfindley here).

To be fair, a lot of other people love it: http://headphone.guru/wells-audio-h...-jerry-garcia-never-had-a-headtrip-this-good/

Sounded a lot more viscous than water...

Easily the worst thing I heard at CJ. I rather listen out of my motherboard.

How about integrateds ~$1,500? New or used. Any recommendations? (I've asked a similar question in the Daily Advice thread with almost no responses)
