Just a head’s up, heard from someone that looked into this deal and found out the warranty won’t be honored if you buy this from Adorama with the discount. Still a good deal but something to keep in mind.

This makes no sense because Adorama claims to be an authorized dealer for Focal on their website and the product page says the headphones come with a 5-year warranty. I foresee some very unhappy people in the future if they try to make a warranty claim and are denied. It might be smart to screen shot the product page with the warranty info before you buy so you’ll have some ammunition in any future dispute with Adorama/Focal.

 

Don’t know for sure but no where they say that warranty won’t be offered so I’m not sure on what ground will they deny warranty. Looks like they have made lot of sales overnight and now it is in backorders but the code still works. Few months back ppl bought it for 4000 thinking they got 20% deal.

Another way would be to call other dealers and ask for price match

On the one hand, sad for those who jumped on the deal. On the other hand, did Adorama just straight up rip away the fat Focal margins and show us how much these actually cost to buy from Focal lol? Kind of a bad look for Focal to start engaging with the community to protect their bottom line... @E_Schaaf care to comment now that cat's out of the bag?

 

So 2700 without warranty vs 4999 with limited warranty for 5 years. Focal themselves have advertised this headphone driver as tank.

 

Agreed! It’s crazy to think Adorama is still making money on these at $2300 off retail. Those margins are insane!

 

The newest wrinkle is Headphones.com will price match Adorama at $2699 and doesn’t charge for sales tax (depending on where you live I suppose). Focal has a little crisis on their hands!

edit: Headphones.com will not price match anymore. They probably got word from Focal to stop.

 

This is unfortunately a very poor reflection on margins in the headphone industry for premium products. 2 retailers are comfortable selling at 54% of MSRP till they are told to stop. This is kind of an open secret but as they say, the true price of any product is what the market will pay. I am only referring to big manufacturers here, not boutique products.

 

For that type of money I would just spend it on a real vacation, even with the yuge as my balls discount.

It looks like the bad press made them rescind their statement to save face. The deal is gone and they'll probably honor the warranty on the purchases while slapping Adorama on the wrist backstage for leaking their margins.
