Tri-state (NY/NJ/CT) mini meet, February 21

UPDATE 2: Aiming for 2/21, Sunday.

Meet is limited to 15 people to keep the spirit of the mini meet.

I know some of you guys have expressed wanting to do a mini meet with just us... friends? Now, let's try to make it official! I currently don't have any job or obligations, so any day would be fine for me. The hardest part would be finding a venue where we can set everything up. Would anyone be willing to host the meet or have any idea where we could find a place?

speedracer1's house. Babylon, 1pm-7pm (If needed for that long). Address will be PM'd to the attendees at a later date.

You can take the lirr to Babylon station and one of us will pick you up from there. If you dont live near a station or need gear picked up, please speak up.

Definitely interested. Might be able to host a relatively small number of people at may apartment. cannot commit to that yet though.

 

Maybe I can come if on a Sunday.

TRS in wall st area can rent a largish room for 30$ an hour?

Hell, I have an office in Manhattan, but it's three treatment rooms (aka listening stations) and a waiting room. If you guys promise not to blow anything up, we're good but it would be crammed and not ideal!

When would this be and how long? I'm thinking 4 hours max and some of us have a drink after?

 

More than willing to chip in for a room rental. Good idea.

 

Lets see who else is interested first. Parking and transporting gear to Manhattan could be a problem though.

I think that 4 hours max would be more than enough to listen to gear, especially if we're paying for the venue. Im up for having drinks afterwards.

 

@Ziva, did you get that EC S7 from sometime back? Would love to hear it!

I'm in. I live in CT. I know some places around here that could work but might be far for most ppl.

 

I would also love to come and bring whatever headphones I have.
I do have the HEX now, but I will have sold it by then.
It not my cup of tea as I like brighter signature cans.

I am growing hesitant to lug equipment so might not bother with mine if another tube setup is available.
I will bring my Yggdrasil if anyone cares to mate it with their own setups for comparisons.

 

Craig may possibly be able to host us. He doesn't go on SBAF but I'll update you guys if that's possible.

 

Sadly, I thought I had a deal with him, but he sold it to someone else... Still looking for one, but didn't want the one requiring pliers... Maybe by the meet another will pop up.

 

Damn, that's a shame. Well the XLR output is fine but if you don't have any balanced headphones, then you're out of luck. What is your setup anyways?

As far as I'm aware, this is every friend/pyrate that was already at the last HF meet in CT. There probably aren't too many more of us, but I think keeping it under 15 people will be a good idea. 9 is pretty nice for a mini meet.

 

Added a poll for january/february, just so that we have a month down at the very least.

I'm hoping that my friend with his ZD 90% S (90% cause it's a SE with most of the S upgrades) could come along.
