Yes, please be careful on Amazon. Lately these scams have been popping up. Usually they're listed about 40% off the usual rate, but if you go into the description they will direct you to a scam site.

It's shown up in a lot of other categories as well. The common response people have is "Well there's 0 risk since it's Amazon." However these seem to be people farming personal data (name, address, and phone).

 

This is odd, a couple of German marketplace sellers offering HE-560 for under £400:

I know the mojo doesnt get too much love here but if you order from amazon.de and ship to the us, 424 euros minus vat = 356 euro= 386 usd for a new mojo. It isn't from 3rd party seller but amazon themselves. All in all...not a bad deal.

 

Why would Amazon even allow listings for products that don't use Amazon's sale system? Seems very odd.

 

Folks have figured out how to manipulate the options to list it, say, for local pick up only, and add an e-mail into the comments section. What amazon needs a "report" button next to each listing.

 

Guys be careful, Amazon UK has been hacked. Any product you search for eg high end headphones/cameras etc you will see one result at least that is 30% cheaper than the next few results. Usually from a new seller with no feedback.

These are fake listings. I purchased a Sony A5100 camera on Amazon UK last week for 249 GBP from Euroworld International only to get an email from the seller that their store had been hacked and they never sell cameras....

I'm still waiting for my refund. Not a huge deal but annoying.

So now they are hacking legitimate sellers' accounts too...Great.

I've seen new accounts doing this pop up on amazon.com within the past year or two. They post an popular item for an unrealistically cheap price along with their email address. They are trying to trick you into paying outside amazon where you have no ground to stand on when they take your money and run. Normally Amazon bans these accounts fast but it might be harder for them to do so now that they are hacking reputable accounts with 1000s of positive feedback.

Watch out!

 

The power of the Camel

I needed a new shaver as mine had broke after seven years. The replacement was $174 on Amazon. I paid $199 for it seven years ago, so I thought $174 isn't so bad. Then I looked on the Camel. The price had dropped to under $150 a few times in the last year, and last mid November to $124. I put an alert on and waited. Three days later and the priced dropped to $114!

I love the camel (or any other price tracker) and highly encourage its use.

^^ I saw that one earlier. Not bad. Great for someone without much desktop space and needs a transportable. Bass boost is actually decently implemented. Doesn't bleed into the mids.
