    Fyi. This may be a good deal now. But in the past month or so, Adorama has sold the HD600 for $249. Amazon has coupled them with a $150 gift card for $400 and Newegg has coupled them with a $200 gift card for $400. Unless someone is in a rush, my guess is that waiting will get you a deal of $250.

    That being said, if any of you don't know, Discover card has some excellent price protection. I've had no problems getting cash back on multiple purchases in cases where the price had fallen within 90 days of purchase. Basically, I could buy anything I wanted now and, with a little work, get Black Friday prices for items that hit a sales price. It's worth doing the homework on how to do it well if you're cash-strapped. But then again... this is a rough forum if you're cash strapped ;)

    I received an email from Bottlehead. They are selling this built Crack + Speedball:

    "After we sold what I thought was the last Crack 1.0 we had in the shop, I was looking on the very top shelf in the lab yesterday and found another one!

    This is a 120V only Crack 1.0 with the most current version of the Speedball upgrade, slightly uprated to MJE5371A transistors on the small PC board. There are a couple of resistors that are the same type but a different brand than what we shipped the kits with. The power transformer bell end is black powder coat, from a small run we received from our winder a couple years ago. The tubes are an RCA 6080 and an RCA 12AU7. The base is finished in clear coat, has a badge and is slightly shop worn. Same as the last one, price is $369 plus shipping, $45 less than a Crack/Speedball in kit form!
