Hahaha. Awesome. Quite a few kids I know who want to be pro-gamers. They are all fail - mainly because they treat it like a fun hobby, as opposed to say like mastering a musical instrument which requires dedicated high-quality practice with coaching many many hours a day.
Parents have been doing it wrong for a long time. Kids aren't special. Chances are they can't be an astronaut. You're only entitled to things you've earned, and that cuts two ways. Some things can't be achieved if you put your mind to it.
I'd rather see kids learn the harsh realities of life instead of being fed bullshit their entire childhood. Maybe it's good I'm not a parent.
@Elnrik Agreed. It’s one thing to foster self-esteem and confidence, it’s another to create faux specialness. It’ll only hurt them once they enter the real world. Kids need to learn how to embrace failure, afterall, life’s most important lessons tend to come after them.
