I lost some 17kg at least a few years back. It wasn't a quick & simple trick but a change in habits. More walking, vegetables, bike rides to work, football (soccer), floorball and less eating crap when tired because of inactivity. I was thinking about the next year, not a week or month. I've managed to keep the weight off.
I'm down 70lbs (32kg) in the last 8 months, since I stopped working and started focusing on my health. Doing HIIT workouts 3 times per week, walking 2 miles 3-4 times a week with my wife, eating smaller portions. I still have another 70lbs to go but I'm halfway there.
It might be water, though I'm only measuring weight in the morning after urinating, and I'm well hydrated all the time. I'm assuming a loss of around 100-200 grams per day. Should be at 80kg/180lbs after two months or so.
