Is it possible that it might sound a little better than Tidal? The catalog isnt really any better or worse than Tidal on Rock/Punk/New Wave stuff. I wish the Spotify catalog was available in CD quality.

To me Qobuz sounded better then Tidal on few albums. I could actually turn the volume up with Qobuz and had less fatigue

Well Tidal maxes out at 44/16 (Redbook) FLAC unless you are listening to a “master” which is MQA and then who knows what you’re really getting then because it’s lossy compression. Qobuz highest subscription tier however gives you up to 192/24 lossless FLAC, so theoretically it should sound better.

I subscribed to the 44/16 tier since it either goes through a Fulla 2 or a Yggdrasil. Is there any "real" benefit to the 192/24 subscription in my case?

What’s your transport, a computer? If so, likely not, but only your ears will tell you. I’ve only listened to a bit of stuff above 16/44 and had a pretty hard time to tell the diff (with a fairly pricey streamer). Don’t know if you’re locked into that tier, but you could try the higher tier for a month and see if you notice. With Tidal you can change the bit rate in order to compare. Not sure if Qobuz has the same.

FWIW on songs that had the same masters available I prefer Tidal. I think I wrote a small comparison here somewhere. Neither of the softwares compare to JRiver.

Using a MacMini at home for a transport, or at work it's just an android phone into Fulla 2. I know the Mac isnt the best transport...

@David De Lucena ...I cancelled Tidal for no other reason besides I have a free month of Qobuz. I didnt need both. If it doesnt work out I might go back to Tidal.

I also noticed that on Qobuz, I often get a brief stutter when hitting play on a new track. Just on the first 1/4 second at the beginning of a track. This is on the MacMini. Android seems ok.

Tidal has a bad habit of dropping out of the HIFI setting and down to High when I play some new stuff on Win desktop app. Be sure to check you SQ settings on playback.

@bixby I've noticed that recently too, but on my work computer where I can only play within a browser, and not through the separate Desktop application. It says that HiFi is only available through the Desktop app, so weird you're getting the same drop there.
