As someone currently struggling to find an OJT site (basically internship), I feel ya. No wonder you were stressed enough to steal brooms ;)

Kidding aside, don't think that you're locked in to one place just because you worked as an intern there. Speaking from experience, that's an easy way to f**k yourself up. Keep options reasonably open, but it's good to have a safety net of sorts.

If you find something that allows you to earn money while doing what you like, enjoy! In that case you are lucky.

My wife didn't get her internship until after she graduated. Thankfully they let her walk with everyone else, but at the time there just wasn't much available in health/safety. Her internship was with Marathon and she still works for them 7 years later.

If you have to choose between "socially prominent" and "has someone in my area of interest whom I will learn from," always choose the latter. Good mentoring is worth so much more than what some strangers think about where you go to get it.
