In hindsight RobS's engagement with the site went from forum participant to "changes name, new profile pic every 2 days and 5 posts/day" like it was social media. This probably caused positive confirmation bias later countered by negative hyperbole. Doing souce first while not having sampled much gear didn't help either, and we end up with noisy impressions justified after the fact and a lot of dick-measuring.
