Get more hobbies. You will spend the same, but less per hobby. At least that is what I have done...

at least the good thing about this hobby is that if you ever wanted an out, you can easily make back most of the money spent (assuming you didn't buy most of the stuff at MSRP)

Definitely more fun to do what @fraggler said, as then you are much lower into the diminishing returns in each individual hobby.

@fraggler The main issue right now is that my other hobbies involve being outside. But perhaps I can pick up another one.

I feel like sometimes there's no way around a high price tag for most interesting hobbies out there - but spending will get more focused once someone figures out what they like/want/are doing to offset the higher costs.
