For reference, my hearing actually is ass. My right ear is better at hearing bass than my left, and my left ear hears treble better. Everything is always off for me when listening to headphones. And I can't hear anything above 16k.
If you crap on my favorite headphone you are crapping on me!! Why don’t you get that? My gear represents myself and is an expression of me as a person. My whole personality is defined by my gear. It’s all I’ve got!!!
@rhythmdevils And that's the other thing lol! Personal audio attracts the weirdest of the weird. Literal bottom barrel crap. And I'm a f'ing weirdo too
So it's a bit like how I hear certain hard-panned classic rock mixes then? Haha.
I had some temporary hearing loss from a chronic outer ear infection. It was disturbing, the thought never crossed my mind. When the infection was worse a week later, things inexplicably sounded right as ever, when I knew they shouldn't.
Newfound appreciation for hearing... and new levels of paranoia over going deaf and not noticing.
That really sucks @robot zombie sorry. I know my hearing is precious to me and I’m super paranoid about damaging it. Same to you @ChaChaRealSmooth not a fun thing to deal with when you suffer from this obsession. :-(
My hearing loss is entirely self-inflicted. Too many nightclubs and concerts without hearing protection few years back (that was extra dumb). Nowadays, I'm much more cognizant of these things.

The trouble is that one does just that. You don't even notice things you can't hear... because you can't hear them. Until something specific makes you realise. For me, it was thinking the kitchen timer was broken. It wasn't: my ears were.
