I learned that the hard way a long while back, haha. Now my warming up (which I didn't count as part of the 2hrs) is basically just me waving my body around and jumping in place. Kinda weird to look at, but I didn't have an audience (I feel very uncomfortable working out with company tbh).
Changed my eating habits, plus some b2 and decided to lift a few weights, just two 10s. It’s been a big difference in my day to day, and 5 lbs lost since I started.
Worth it, every little bit makes a difference.
When I first started going back to the gym seriously recently, I found body movements in general to just suck. That being said, I've gained back 10 lbs so far and am very pleased with my progress (I'm trying to gain weight)
Just eat a lot of good food, including enough protein. Sleep a ton. And drink lots of water. Go on a nice walk outside as well. 2-3 days between workouts.
My issue is that I have bad weeks where I hardly move more than needed, but then I'd go on a workout bender for a couple days and feel like I'm made of cinders by the end of it. Loop. I'm having to stop myself from hitting the weights again right now. A walk would be grand but for urban smog lmao.
Totally get it. Consistency is key. Try to move every day if you can, even if it’s just light mobility stuff in the morning when you wake up. Have a treadmill for a recovery walk today since you can’t go outside? Some VERY light weight work could be ok today if you go nowhere near failure and just do it to get blood flowing a bit. Just don’t overdo it and hurt yourself. Recovery is super important.
@Lyander, that's more than than I've done in one workout my whole life. What the heck are you made of?! @Gazny, you've been an inspiration. I picked up my weights again for the first time in 9 months. Thanks! @Riotvan Fifteen years ago, I'd run in place to "Can't Touch This" before stretching. It's precisely the right pace and length; tho' it did sound redundant after a while.
@Claritas haha I'm aiming for moderate intensity over a couple hours, nothing impressive here. I did go lift some weights (10lb curls/ 40lb lats) until I was wiped, but I'm not trying to become Ahnuld at his peak, just aiming for aesthetics and health. I don't really count reps which is likely dumb, mostly go by feel.
I wanted to eat rock salt after though. Was probably dehydrated.
