I saw all those people in Minnesota chanting for a new phono preamp on Sunday before the game, and Schiit delivers!

Midgard is cool but it seems it still might be aggressive like most amps. We will see when impressions are here.

Cool that you can telepathically determine what our amps sound like before listening.

Just want a Val 2+ bigger brother that doesn’t need to be just a better tube amp version of the Val, can be a SS amp. This is after trying your amps over the years. I’ll keep praying and maybe Midgard isn’t aggressive like a Jot 2 and Lyr.

Neither of those are aggressive to me. Jotunheim 1 maybe, but any Lyr and Jot 2 aren't. Funny how perceptions differ.

@YMO I didn’t find Jot 2 or Lyr (3 at least) aggressive either. In fact most seem to agree Lyr is somewhat laid back. However If you tried the Lyr with a JJ tube, there is some harshness/hardness with that tube that I couldn’t deal with either. But vintage Raytheon tubes work great and gets me closest to the bloom from Vali 2 (never heard Vali 2+) with the improved clarity, refinement and other improvements.
