text correction and suggestive text has actually gotten much worse over the last couple years. But with Ai, iOS could analyze sentences and figure out what word you are likely trying to use. Like I'm obviously not trying to type "whet" I'm trying to type "what". Would be really nice for my thumb which literally makes typos in every other word.

Apple's text correction is beyond horrible. I found it much better on Android (3+ years ago) and even on BlackBerry way back in the day.

Hell yes, iOS autocorrect sucks ass. It’s the only thing that really bugged me moving from Android years ago…

The original Swype keyboard for Android was good. I think it kept a local database and a central database. I have a feeling that the company/technology was bought by MS.

Today, for all that it practically owns the internet and all the data thereon, Google's keyboard is awful. Why make bad guesses? ...

... I particularly dislike its tendency to throw in proper nowns where they are not even grammatically correct, let alone likely. I mean, eg, like "Why make Boris guesses?"

I generally like what SwiftKey does. Of course there's the caveat that you have to give Microsoft your data.

The first thing that struck me about Chat GTP is how well and correctly it writes in English. That's a giveaway for college students cheating: they can't write without making grammatical mistakes :)

Tangent, but I will never forget my one high school English teacher accusing me of plaigiarism back in the early 2010s when all I did was write with my usual tone. I can only imagine that others who have a similar text cadence are currently being unjustly accused of having AI write their papers.

ROFL. If there ends up being a language learning model patterened after MY writing the internet's gonna run out of space just from all the purple prose that ends up churning out /s

LOL, would probably end up being true for me, though.
Then again those LLMs already generate way too long texts with lots of disclaimers. But in this case it's best to ask a professional who can better judge how long a text a LLM would create. Whether the internet would run out of space depends not only on the amount of content being written, but also based on the compression and total storage space available.
