cool. Thanks for not lecturing me with a bullet point response. That would indeed have been pissing in it. I have no problem discussing any topic with friends. As it is I shared an opinion and eventually supported it with some reasons as to why I have that opinion and anyone is free to agree, disagree or ignore. No personal feelings towards each other necessary and then there is no problem. Why does any anger at each other need to enter the picture if everyone is respectful? The topic at hand is not “What is racism?” I find his actions despicable and that’s not true or false. You can say, “I don’t find his actions despicable.” That’s not true or false either. No bullet points necessary. We are all SBA friends and big boys and girls. If someone is not acting that way then you and I both can just ignore them and let them get banned or whatever. God bless you all.

    Para 3 CPM-S110V
suingab "Jade Ghost" scales (no lanyard hole)
    Flytanium titanium replacement hardware kit
LynchNW "Standard Clip" with a polished finish

The others I use regularly are Spyderco Watu and WE Miscreant. But neither works so well as a Para 3.

I like my Spyderco. I can’t remember the model name off the top of my head, but it was made in the USA, and is pretty big - albeit slim and light.

Best stiletto blade maker? Pearl handle, Polish bayonet preferable. No belt clip. It would be a gift for a birthday next year, so I got time to save up for a good one.

Those small USB torches are great.

If you want to find really good ones you can also check out the mountainbike LED-USB rechargeable bike lights. Some of those are also usable as mini torches and very bright.

Olight makes nice stuff. I have a Valkyrie Mini pistol light and it is very well made. Thinking of getting a Baldr with the laser and light combo.

Have been carrying a Maratac AAA flashlight on my keychain for many years. It is small and convenient. When the time comes to replace it I'm not sure if I will go rechargeable or stick to replaceable, they both have pros and cons.

I have carried an Eagletac D25C powered by 4sevens rechargeable RCR123 battery in my pocket for 8 years but I also have a few rechargeable Olight keychain lights and rechargeable is the way to go vs AAA for such a light IMO. The Olight keychain lights are particularly handy in that you just turn the head and it pops up revealing a charge port. I have gotten 3 of these plus their AAA light for 5 bucks each just by having an account at olight world. Every big sale event they have they give out free lights for the $5 cost of shipping. I gave one to my wife too which she sometimes uses as a physician when doing on-site sports physicals.

Yeah, single 123 would be the smallest readily available and practical replacement. I have a couple single 18650 lights but they are too big for EDC. The AAA light is tiny though, finding something that small that does not feel like a toy is not easy. Probably should not have looked at this thread as it may cost me money LOL.

this is the one my wife has on her keychain. Feels great with the knurling. Not toy-like at all. I have the “i16” 16th anniversary edition on my keychain. Again though I got both of these 20+ dollar lights for 5 bucks each just for making an account and watching for sale events.

Just ordered an i1R 2 Pro to try out. For that price I'm curious how it stacks up to my long time standby. One will end up on my backup set of keys either way. And way cheaper than the probable future bidet upgrade LOL.

I've always veered away from rechargeables... I also use a Maratec AAA (titanium) and like the convenience of simply replacing the battery. For whatever reason, rechargeable scares me because I feel like every rechargeable device I've ever had loses battery capacity in a couple years. I've had the maratec for close to 10yrs...

i can understand that. The good thing is in my Baton 3 Pro the battery is replaceable. Something rechargeable with replaceable battery is the best way to go IMO. You get better brightness and runtime in addition to being rechargeable. The rechargeable 4sevens battery in my 1xCR123 pocket light has lasted me for a very long time and if it finally stops I can just get another. I also have Eagletac and 4Sevens 2xCR123 lights and a supply of lithium batts plus some standard battery lights and lanterns though.

I have sooooo many Olights and have probably owned or played with most of them in their lineup from the past couple years minus the gun lights. Their marketing is obnoxiously heavy handed, but somehow I'm a sucker for sales, and also I worked with tradesmen for years and flashlights made the perfect gifts for birthdays and Christmas.

It's nice to see them finally offering neutral tints again, but the CRI is actually better on their cool whites if you're a CRI snob.

Currently have the big boi Maurauder 2 for fun. The Arkfeld UV is the best and worst tool for cleaning the bathroom. On job sites I rotate through the Seeker 3 Pro, Perun 2, or the only non-olight in my collection at the moment is the Lumintop EDC18 (SST20 4k). The Open 2 Pro is also surprisingly useful, though I was considering swapping it out for the regular Arkfeld. My partner has an i5R, and I have a Baton 3 stuck to the side of the fridge. In our car is an older S2Rii along with a case of 2xCR123 batteries for emergencies). I gave my mom a Perun mini which she clips to a hat to help with her reading.

I don't really have an issue with their "proprietary" batteries. Depending on the model regular batteries may work and you just lose out on the rechargeability function.

Back to knives, I signed up on the waitlist for the North Arms Skaha II expecting a couple years lead time, but it seems I'm two months away. Hmm...

I could do with a keychain torch.

I had a neat, coin-battery one: it was dim. And, after years, died.

Subsequently I had a small Nitcore one. Rechargeable. Good amount of light, but people were always asking me what was shining through my pocket... it's button was always getting pressed. I wasn't too sad when it fell off my keyring and got lost.

Any recommendation? Must be small. Smaller than a car remote, already have to carry one of those. AAA maximum. Should be bright enough to see stuff and not tread in it, but no need to see to the end of the street. Must not turn on accidentally.

Something like the Nitecore TUP is a bit chunkier than a car remote, but it does have a lockout mode so it won't accidentally turn on. Probably more power than you need, but 1000 lumens in your pocket is always fun.

Fenix E03R v2 has a lockout mode and is slimmer.

I find twisty keychain lights generally don't turn on accidentally. It's more convenient than lockout, because lockout means you have to unlock before you can use it, which can sometimes be a fumble if you're in the dark. Fenix E02R, Olight i1r (I like the "pro" model more but it's a smidge bigger) are both rechargeable. Olight i3e uses a AAA.

Fenix and Nitecore, we have local dealers, although not necessarily the same models as in other countries. I have to double-check the models you mention.

Olight is one that I haven't heard of before, but amazon.in comes up in google results so I can certainly get it.

I do agree that twisty-switch is probably best.

One of my 18650 lights is a Fenix, they are very well regarded in the industry as well.

Anyway, got my 1R2 today. I've had my Maratac AAA for at least a dozen years and it has served me very well, so I don't take replacing it lightly. The Maratac of this vintage is I believe 100 or 120 lumens on high, and lasts for about 60 minutes on a decent quality AAA. The Olight is 180 lumens and lasts 25 minutes on high. Being able to just quickly drop in a new battery is sometimes useful. OTOH, being able to regularly charge up a partially depleted built in battery is also useful. I'll use this as my new EDC for the next while and see which I prefer.

Size wise the Maratac is a bit longer and the Olight is a bit thicker. Both are convenient keychain pocket size.

I am thinking of going for an olight. I haven't compared with USD, but it is half the price in GBP on amazon.co.uk compared to INR on amazon.in. A friend is coming from there in July (last year they carried a Nitecore SRT7gt for me).

My only doubt is that fixed rechargable is the worst of both worlds, with no possibility of carrying a spare. But... for a small keychain light, I guess I'm overthinking that.
