Soekris dac1101 R2R DAC/Amp

I'm pretty excited for this fully assembled soekris dac. Alvin on xtremeplace posted a couple diagrams of the design. Also he bought so many dac pcbs from soekris the europe web site is out of stock now of the 0.02% version
C'mon you audio 1 percenters should hop on the group buy with me DHL shipping to usa was only like $60 or so

 

This costs slightly over $1,000 USD right?

Is this thing better than the upcoming $650 Soekris-assembled DAC/Amp?

Looks pretty cool. Fingers crossed, he does proper testing, before it ships. For the original board a few folks blew their speakers/amps due to various operational quirks.

 

The 1.05 firmware and rev 3 pcb of the diy board seem pretty stable now, no click pops etc. Hopefully this new board is close enough to the diy one that he was able to use what he learned to make it a less buggy product

Looks like a really cool unit, but I'd be much more interested if the output impedance was less than 3 ohms. If the GOv2+ Infinity ends up being a disaster I might consider getting one of these for traveling nonetheless.

 

I guess soren isn't an iem guy. Low impedance schmoe impedance

 

I wonder if we could bribe Mike Moffat to put the closed form filter in this thing. Or just make Schiit pull something out like this that's all in-house. I like bribery, but a USB powered multibit DAC/amp from schiit sounds pretty neat.

 

A higher end fulla seems like a logical product
