Normie audiophile corner: Powerbeats Pro actually sound decent, but the soundstage seems like it’s sprouting from the back of my head. Jul 9, 2019

I love my PBP! Never thought being wireless would be so enjoyable over wired IEM's... I wear them constantly walking the dog, washing my truck and doing yard work! They are secure in my ears, great sound and imaging and can control the volume right on the 'phones themselves...either one!

Great separation plays plenty loud enough....really enjoyable! Who knew?

I can’t believe it took me this long to realize that peaches and nectarines are the same thing (minus fuzz). I feel betrayed by the planet.

Had a dream last night about a Focal headphone with flax sandwich cone drivers, wonder if it'll ever happen.

I think adding cheese between the flax layers would really add a lot of texture to the bass. Slap some lettuce on top for crunch and you've got a killer edible headphone.

That awkward moment when the left channel of your phono preamp dies at a mini meet. *Sniff* gotta send the Chinook in for service.

That stinks man, hopefully it won’t take long to get fixed. A holiday without vinyl...sucks.

Beautiful looking Schiit chain! Quick question: Is the general consensus, here, that it's perfectly fine stacking a Freya right on top of an Yggdrasil?

I stopped stacking them shortly after that photo based on how hot Freya gets. No harm done, but probably not great in the long term.

Yeah I had to buy like 2 or 3 extra glass shelves for a steel Sanus Rack just to stick all my other stuff in there...while having an Yggdrasil lay on a Top-most open shelf w/ a Freya laying over it, on something like this monitor riser/stand: https://www.amazon.com/Allsop-Adjustable-Adjustments-Non-Skid-31630/dp/B01C09ZSNM Just to not worry about overheating issues... and also for an easy access to Tube Swapping.

Judging by how compressed the last 2 albums were, I would not hold my breath. Listen to Nude or The Tourist and you can feel how real it gets. TKOL I understand but it's a shame Pool was passed through a grater as it has the DNA of Rainbows.

I used to be a huge Radiohead fan, I mean I have everything they recorded including unobtainium bootlegs. I even met Thom Yorke once. It's a shame that even Nigel Godrich can fall into the compressed radio friendly sound trap.
Now that classical music is my alpha and omega, I feel lucky to have so much music with excellent dynamic range. The faintest whisper can be coupled with an orchestral volcanic eruption!

Yep, it's a Salamander Barcelona. It's built like an absolute tank. Extruded aluminum skeleton with about an inch and a half of veneered MDF wrapping it.

Yeah! It's too bad that the newer people who get into the hobby won't get the chance to try them out aside from buying used and reshelling.

Took a gamble on the ESP-950, they may not be noteworthy in terms of resolution but the tonality is spot on.

I see a lot of cool gear on your profile page so will be interested to see what you list. I would certainly have interest in some of that gear. Good luck with the purge.

I recently took most of the stuff I'm planning I'm selling off of my profile, but I'll get a list up in the FS section before the NYC meet so I can bring them in person on Sunday.

I'm looking to sell my Marantz TT15S1 (w/ clearaudio virtuoso) and Project Debut Carbon (Gray w/ Ortofon 2m red, acrylic platter, & speedbox psu) which will be tricky to ship, so locals will get priority if they're interested.

Agreed. I'm judging 2016 way too early but I'm getting jaded by the increasing prices for headphones that seem to be side-grades rather than improvements, I guess that's how summit-fi works though. I hope Massdrop & Schiit keep up the trend of pushing the price/performance boundary, I think it's going to be a big pressure to keep the industry innovating (while pricing competitive).
