I'm not normally one to grind for leveling in games, but I would totally do so for silly stats on this forum.

Head-fi hates direct speech; they love purple prose. They're not fluent enough in interpersonal and written communication to realize if you say something, chances are you believe it. Thus it's your opinion and otherwise you would be lying. Saying "I think" or "In my opinion" implies uncertainty and a lack of confidence. Head-fi are not women so Head-fi do not understand this.

I don't visit Head-Fi much anymore because it offers nothing for me. See's to be too much of "follow the leader" going on with popular threads. It's more along the lines of everyone believing or siding with a person, and then being jumped on when you don't agree with them.

There are many reason why I don't go there anymore. The site just pissed me off with how wildly commercialized it has become.

    EDIT:
Saw the emperor Jude post, totally got me laughing. People really do believe everything he says.

It's been like that for years. Even moderators such as kwkarth from a few years back would crap on you publicly or tear you into an asshole in a private message if you didn't toe the line for something being awesome. Things like that probably made me more negative and critical than I would have been otherwise.

I've had guy who makes cables on there nearly get me banned because I badmouthed custom made cables. Jude's already contacted me several times with threats of being banned over the most stupid crap.

I don't fret over Head-Fi anymore. There's so much more important stuff I'd rather do than be talked to like I'm stupid.

I've already gotten talked to by qusp before about cables and such. People don't take well to an objective view of an item in question.

Head-Fi is actually useful in getting early information about new upcoming products (not that all new upcoming products are good as they say). For example, I first learned about the release of highly anticipated headphones like HD800S and TH-X00--although Marv had strongly hinted at the latter--at HF before anywhere else watching Jude's videos.

But I tend stop right there after being made aware of the fact, trying not to waste too much time waddling through the respective product's thread where over 90% of posts are nothing but hype train.

I still use head-fi to sell headphones/gear, and keep up with news and such. I kinda lost my already dwindling enthusiasm for the site when Jude decided to revive his three year old reddit account he never uses to argue with me in length about how he doesn't make money off the ad videos he does or gets any monetary benefit from them or something.

I'm still on Head-Fi a lot because many people here are allergic to bass and I live in the Audio-GD camp, which also hangs at Head-Fi versus the Schiit crowd that lives here.

I tend to stick to very specific threads and ignore the rest of the site, though.

I've heard a few interesting stories from at least one MOT that became a sponsor to think there's more going on behind the scenes than the mods let on without necessarily qualifying this as an outright false statement.

I love Audio-GD stuff! I own their USB interface and ROC amp. Great value for the money indeed.

There's more to being a sponsor than you think. I was close at one point but turned back when they wanted $500 a month so I can talk about my own cables. Really...

Really wonder how much money they make off head-fi. Of course running a site is not free and require funding but somehow headfi seems more .com than .org
