Edit. Mismatch might be imaginary.. Room reflections etc. Tweeter is super directional, sensitive to placement. Removed some reflective surfaces.

Compared to Momentums, Sony's have better timbre lows to mids. Highs are comparable to the Momentums but are more recessed. Seems like the Sony's have slightly more microdetail.

Stock FR regarding bass is flatter than Senns 5 - 6dB shelf. Bass is normal level, impactful and does not need adjustment, which is rare these days.

Having more time on them.. These BTH InEars are similar in SQ. M3TRW had better clarity and transparency but the WFs have better timbre at places. All in all both are decent True wireless options. Both lack the soundstage and wholesome sound that the bigger Momentum4s offer.

I was just wondering what type of feel you meant because effeminate vocals are definitely not a new thing in pop music. Reference Prince, MJ, The Beegees, some delta blues guys, etc..

Its simple.. Its these modern pop artists, none of them sound like men. The music isnt that good I have nothing against higher octaves like Radiohead or vocal talent otherwise ( there are more good band I cant remeber atm).

I reflected on my POV a little and stand by it. No one shoe fits all. I am the type who'd rather listen to 30s 40s jazz singers as In the "pop" music.. I remember enjoying Fallout soundtrack that had cool vocals + other similar artists. But hey, pop music never was my cup of tea, so everything is in order.

Keep in mind this is a technically capable BTH headphone first and in the HP quality scale they are just ok, decent mid-tier. It would be unrealistic to expect much more I guess.

Some questions remain. 1. Can this be modded to sound more balanced in the bass section. 2. How are these driven with the TRS jack. I am not 100% sure these are driven straight from outside source.

Listening to Daft Punk "Tron Legacy" - Recognizer, I can confirm that the bass response on this is quite remarkable. It has weight in the bass that few Hps have.

I have the M4s only. I think they sound quite good driven from an external source. They got more "body" and better dynamics driven from my Jotunheim. The M4s internal power source is quite good, "non invasive" yet lack refinement when you comp. it to more powerful outside sources.

With external source, the sound comes alive and is more refined. Compared to the Sony XM5s the M4s have blacker background.. the HPs tend to dissapear more in a good way. I am sold on the M4s for my portable and PC usage. I quite like these. 1 to 3 dB too much bass. Depends on the track.

I can go and take a listen to the M3s when I visit the stores.

I also have the MSR7 here for comparison.

Long range power lines can have "reactor" banks that balance line capacitance. This is one reason why undersea cables are DC. You do not need to counter act the line capacitance with i. reactors.

And for noisy devices like electrical drives (add harmonic distorion to the grid) they have special power electronic filters that remove the distortion and losses.

Yeah, it probably isn’t much of a problem. I just wrote down what I heard many years ago. I guess if it was really problematic, they’d make PFC obligatory in 20W devices. At least I hope so.

More on the Sony hps. XM5 seemed to have good sound stage. It had good enough clarity and detail. All in all, big upgrade over XM4. That said, my Momentum 3 IEMs have better bass controll. I think the highs are slightly better, they pop out better. Less compressed.

In regards to wired portable audio, I Wana get my hands on some Campfire IEMs and see how they sound in comparison. Maybe next year.

Adding the Sennheiser Momentum 4 into this stream .. It might be a keeper. Quite close to the XM5s I believe. I think M4s were slightly more dynamic sounding but XM5 played louder at max or near max volume. I want to compare them side by side later. Maybe one of my favourite audio shop is going to help me out with that..

The highlights are neutral FR with uncompromised lows and highs. Hi-hats sound just right with it. It seems to do microdetail as well since I like higher quality albums with it.

These over gen2 overears BT HPs anyday for me. I am gona visit a local HPs shop to revisit current overhead BT hps for comparison. As far as Airpods Max, these were quite good. So will see what other brands have to offer this year.
