My mom used to work at Xerox, and my dad still does, so that's how I got the job.
This job is a bit easier than stacking wood, and pays a lot better. While this print job is printing I get to walk around outside.
My first summer job was going to fast food restaurants after hours and cleaning grease off the ceilings with a chemical sprayer. Often went til 4AM. Honestly menial jobs can be kinda fun when you get into a flow and let your mind wander.
Yeah, before this I worked at a sub shop, that was pretty good too, but this is 40 hours a week and with better pay, so more money for me. Which is good, I am eyeing a few watches that I don't yet have money for. And audio stuff. And spending money for college.
Cherish your summer breaks! Take the time to savor a couple of months to chill. I miss it and fondly remember that period of my life. Hunt for good music and good women!
Many decades ago, a friend of mine worked for xerox. His job was to take stuff apart, figure out how to put it together again... and then write the maintenance manual. :)
