Not many recipes call for toilet paper or hand sanitizer.

@Thenewerguy009 @schiit I'll sell you TP for a discounted $50 a roll. On the open market I'm charging $100/roll. I promise it makes your gear sound 11% better through the use of midichlorians.

I found some at local Korean markets, but even they've been hit with it. Ironically the clientele hitting the TP are non-Asians.

When Immortan Joe comes around, I'll let him know I can do tube amps/radios, make beer, and distill whiskey. I'll live through this one, come what may.

I had trouble getting distilled water for my daughter's humidifier. I had to go to a dedicated water store with a 5 gallon glass carboy and pay double what usually pay at Target.

The bulk buying is weird to me. This isn't an earthquake or hurricane. Stores are still open and the infrastructure isn't going to collapse.

@dmckean44 : yours is an example of collateral damage caused by panic buying, preventing those with real and immediate needs from obtaining the necessary resources.

Why on earth is distilled water being bought up? Racking my brains here for reasons but none of them make sense. Then again, neither did toilet paper so I guess things don't really have to make sense in order to happen.

@JustAnotherRando I think people are reading general preparedness guides which are written for situations like earthquakes and hurricanes where services might be out for a week or two afterwards.

Protip: seems like asian markets aren't experiencing panic buying. Partly because asians are more level headed and partly because of YTs thinking asian places are more susceptible to coronavirus

I was at the Asian market yesterday and there was panic buying to the extreme. NO shopping carts, because they were in use by 100+ person line at the register. They did have TP and paper towels available, limit 2 per customer. 50lb bags of rice were the #1 hoarded item.

I'm thinking of getting a bag of rice in. Like, 5kg, whereas we usually buy 1kg at a time
