The V2+ had chassis problems that were only recently fixed and LH Labs is currently shipping to Indiegogo backers. Once those orders are filled they should show up for sale to the general public.

If you don't want to wait, check the GOV2 thread on HF, a ton of people are upset with how LH Labs handled their crowdfunding and are selling their sealed or barely used plus units at reasonable prices.

If possible, I'd stick with the regular GOV2 and not the plus. I had the new aluminum plates start coming off within seconds of opening the package. I have gone without a resolution since Jan 22nd, and almost 3 weeks without any reply to my weekly inquiries.

    really?
Gina hasn't replied to a ticket in that long? bonkers.

my GOV2+Infinity is having the same problem, metal plates coming "unglued" from the underlying resin case. no significant QA went into this design.
haven't opened a ticket yet, but will do so Monday and relay results here.

LH Labs has turned a complete 180, from hyper internet marketing and consumer interaction to having zero online presence other than Larry's replies to some IGG updates and comments.
    Gavin is gone. no explanation.
newish Michael PR guy seems absent and the LH Labs forums are a complete ghost town.
Jeff C doesn't reply much to emails.

and if customer tickets are being ignored for 3 weeks, it smells as if Larry and Engr crew are just trying to finish current products and ship em, then close the doors.
@zerodeefex get to the bottom of this would ya?

There's no plans to close the doors. There are some pretty good products in the pipeline, but the focus is shipping what's committed.

I had a good experience - they replaced my GOV2 after I bricked it applying a V1 update ROM. There was some lag in communications, but no more than a day.

If I had to guess, I'd say the vehement and continual backlash over their crowdfunding practices has made them loathe to interact heavily online.

I'm going on two weeks w/o a followup on my GOv2+ Inf. RMA, as well. Really strange behavior.. Manny mentioned he was prepping my replacement unit two weeks ago.. my defective unit arrived at their office a week and a half ago.. crickets from Gina & Manny since the last comm from Manny. They're usually pretty quick.. but I've sent four followup emails and I've not got a single response.

Bug them more. This is unacceptable.

Definitely disappointed. 3 out of 4 devices I received from LHLabs over the years have been defective. Prior to this one, however, they were generally responsive and reasonably speedy with resolutions so I have remained forgiving and patient. They were doing fine on this one until Manny offered to ship me new plates about 3 weeks ago. I responded almost immediately asking him if it would really help since it seems to be a glue issue. I haven't heard anything since despite emailing 3 more times over the 3 weeks. I don't want to have to be one of those guys who starts pestering every day since I know how trying providing customer service can be, but I don't want this GOV2+, and I don't think that anyone will buy it for a reasonable price with the plates sticking up (works beautifully otherwise).

So I Just got my GOv2 from amazon to go with the HD650. Still waiting on the balanced cable but it sounds good so far.

Just had a question about the Gain switch. According to the LH labs Geek Out V2 User Manual:

"*V2 retail units will have a White LED that denotes the Low gain and Blue LED that denotes the High gain. This was changed to blue for retail production units.

    * Pre-Production units will have a Blue LED which denotes the Low gain and a Red / Blue which denotes Medium Gain (for Infinity models), and a Red LED which denotes the High gain."

My gain (G) LED cycles between blue and red - meaning I have a pre-production unit, right? Does anyone else have a red/blue led?

It sucks but should I be upset and contact support, even?

    Thanks.

I just did the same, received from Amazon this past Saturday. Same deal with the LEDs being red and blue "preproduction" colors. I thought about complaining to Amazon, but the unit works fine. Although the case looks like hell and the buttons are both flat, I think this is probably the best it is going to get. It sounds friggin' fantastic with my HE400S, so I don't think complaining is truly warranted. BTW, where are you getting your balanced cable for HD650?

After listening to nothing but my Bifrost Multibit/Valhalla 2/HD600 combo for the last few weeks, I finally pulled the GOV2 out again and listened in balanced mode with my Oppo PM-3. And you know what? This is still a darned good device. It doesn't touch my home rig, but for listening at work it does a great job and I find myself enjoying my music plenty. Definitely great to have on the go.

submitted my LH Labs support ticket 1 week ago, about GOV2+Infinity metal face plates becoming detached from the resin case.
got a reply on March 14 asking for RMA name/address/shipping info.

    seems that:
    a) LH Labs moved physical facilities (again) and were offline for awhile.
    b) and somewhere on IGG there's mention of a new(er) spine fused cases or some such for GOV2+.

guess us RMA folks will get the "new new" case some day.
will be happy to send my GOV2+Inf in once scheduling/approved- until then the GOV2 does very well with a macbook and IEMs/HE-400S anyhow.

My thoughts with respect to the FRM and TCM filters...

I believe the FRM filter sounds more natural to my ears... the tonality sounds correct from top to bottom; the tonal weight is more even, and seems to capture more overall musical information/emotion. The TCM filter seems to change the tone in an unnatural way to my ears... the treble seems to either change in pitch, or there is some sort of overall shift that emphasis a less realistic sound. My problem is that I actually hear different details with the TCM filter... I pick out things I don't seem to normally notice with Gungnir Multibit. This surprises me, because I do enjoy hearing into the mix this way. I kind of wish there was a way to combine both filters.

To simplify my experiences with both filters, I will say TCM seems to sound more precise, yet voices/instruments/overall tone is lacking in presentation. FRM sounds more natural, perhaps a bit fuzzier, but generally a preferred experience. I use FRM nearly all the time...

Has anybody found a micro USB OTG y-cable that works with the V2?

I picked one up but it doesn't work. The external battery seems to power both the phone and the V2 but the phone doesn't connect with the V2 properly.

I've noticed on a straight OTG connection for some reason I have to plug my V2 into the cable first, and then plug that into my phone or it doesn't register. I don't need a Y cable (V10 is fine on its own) but maybe you're seeing the same issue?

Any OTG cable should work. It plays music from my Note 5, however there are occasional glitches heard so I can't really recommend it.
