      Total utter f'ed-up crap level.

No, you ridiculous idiot turd-faced audiophools: this absurdity won't make your music sound different. Y'all must have gone deaf and living in fantasy.

For me, the bottom line of computer storage is that even an ancient, slow CD drive is... totally fine. Perhaps I could sell them one for a thousand euros!

It's fun. Crazy fun. But, as an ex-Londoner, can't help thinking about the drivers that have to wait for the stunt to be over!

(disclosure: no I don't. Except in a real emergency. I'm too old to start making a habit of it now. I did once learn to squat. But I'm too old for that now too)

      IMO -
The crack mods don't all work independently from each other w/ regards to synergy. It can take some messing around to get it right.

Also, bypass caps on the output cap made a much bigger difference than expected on the Crack.

Ultimately stopped messing around with my BH Crack as the tubes I wanted were just not easily obtainable... and I just had no more desk space.

In an age of less sophistication, when I was a todler, my parents changed the knobs/locks on all the kitchen cupboards. Instead of turning, you had to press a button. Apparently I worked it out in seconds. As I lived with them up to age 15, I remember them well, and would not expect them to pose much of a challenge to any child.

DEFINITELY not looking forward to that cuz my joints are already on the noisy side.

Re: child locks, my one cousin keeps her son from opening cabinets up by... adding an adhesive mounted latch that he's too short to reach. Simple but effective.

The "push down to engage screw" things seems more effective on a sleepy me than actual kids though.

I take a certain pleasure in destroying child locks. For push down to unscrew caps, on the underside of the cap, use a thin wedge (e.g., flathead screwdriver) to separate the threaded piece inside the cap from the outer cover. That threaded piece works fine as a cap, and it doesn’t lock.

I first went to school in 1957. For quite a few years, Britain was still living in nostalgic cloud of the pink maps on the classroom walls. Pride in that empire, albeit gone. I was a lousy history student --- but I don't recall any mention of non-white royals. Even /Scottish/ was thought of as a bit foreign!

I’m using HQPlayer Client for exactly this use case. I don’t even remember putting in the IP, I guess it would take some time to configure it correctly again. :)
But, once set up, it works, at least as long as you don’t restart HQPlayer (Embedded, in my case), you’ll have to restart the Client then, too. :o) (On an iPad, at least.)

@crenca Yes. I quite like the Mosfet solid state circuit, too. It was a deciding factor in getting rid of my BHA-1. When putting it up against the Bryston, the Lyr+ presents more detail, cleaner bass, and definitely more fun. In tube mode it's really great with the right tubes....and fun even with the wrong ones :-)

The brain is the most under-rated part of any listener's equipment. The whole stereo thing is an illusion, which your brain is happy to augment for your pleasure. But...

I wonder if different wavelengths could be reflected in different ways, giving an illusion of soundstage? Just an idea. Scientists please tell.

Vehicle tires wear out, yet we still ride bicycles, cars, buses, etc.
I still recommend the Vali 3 + GE JAN 5670w. That tube is likely to last 10K hrs.
If you listen 8 hrs every day of the year it will take approximately 3.4 years to wear one out.
