This is independent of product announcements, and not anything political (barf) This is just my opinion--it seems that audio is more and more tiered and codified, which is boring, Time to make it non-boring again.
So you're making a headphone that spits in the face of Harman tuning and pricing it aggressively while marketing it with the same level of sass as on your FAQs? :P
Unfortunately we don't do headphones. On a sidenote: not sure why some manufacturers are using a different manufacturer's preference curve. Seems it should be independent research. But what do I know?
I like the in house curve, the big curve isn’t for the same audience if you consider their scope. If you don’t have a giant conglomerate of power why follow them, you will get crushed. I can think of a cool products at least in the headphone space. Some audiences do demand some third party to verify aspects, but I think the powers at be want themselves to be the voices of authority to capture the audience.
We've arguably been addressing the lack of interesting stuff all year. It'll ramp up again this month and will continue accelerating all thru next year. But basically doing some truly new stuff, not incremental, not me-too, not price-researched and benchmarked to what the market will bear, not just another same-ish box to slot up against the competition's same-ish box.
Ok, gotcha. Then I’d say you’ve arguably been addressing it for most of the history of the company then :-). There are so many ways that you have taken a maverick approach to things. It’s one of the reasons why so many people have a strong affinity to you, your products and your brand, myself included. More of that sounds good to me!
I mean, we aren't about creating foundations and think-tanks, so yeah it's products. I'm just emoting that I wish I saw more crazy stuff, else we fall into an iPhone 15 doom-loop.
I'd say you have already helped make audio interesting with very flexible topology components, the latest being Mjolnir 3. Yeah, this one has my attention and will serve as a great tool for the new measurements I've presented and others still in experimental state. Oh, and it sounds fabulous enough to capture my ears too.
