        But for both parties to abandon the animal stinks. One of them must have been the cat person.

        My wife doesn't really like the cats. But if anything happened to me, I trust that she would at least feed them.

        As I said, I've only seen the mild end, but people are not unable to understand what it is like. The usual thing is to confuse clinical depression with being-fed-up depression. the latter can be fixed much more easily by attitude/life-change; the former, although it is sometimes triggered, has nothing to do with being fed up or unhappy etc. It is a shame that people have to find out the hard way.

        In its day it was wonderful, both for commuting music and for making it possible to record cleanly without the awful hiss of cassette. I had a portable /and/ a full-size deck.
