      My rig is a KB500x clone, which is based on the GRAS 45ca pinna. The ears are a bit stiffer than a real one so seal isn't going to be perfect, but back to back with an EARS it was a lot more compliant. (I do this for fun, I'm not selling anything)

      Whether transducers or sources/amps, people have known for almost a century that the harmonic makeup of the distortion is very important. Read this from 1949 and see the ref. to work done in the 1930s: https://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rd/pubs/reports/1949-30.pdf . Now consider Sennheiser bass vs planar (or even biodyna) bass.

      And specifically regarding sources, remember "all CD players sound the same" from the 1990s and see @Cellist88 response: if it's mostly about FR, and even distortion (which in most cases measures low enough to be supposedly imperceptible), how could different DACs sound different?

      Yeah total bummer. I was really looking forward to it and that specific color. I don't think Zach uses USPS but it was purchased second hand. That's why it was sent that way. You're right on USPS dropping the ball hard recently. Time to file that claim.

      Did shipper insure? Had USPS “deliver” a WE 396a from fleaBay the other week, seller wasn’t any help. I was surprised how quickly the local post office called me when I went to file, but it was just “she [the carrier] says she’s sure she delivered it.” Still nothing, bought another one. Could have tried to go through PayPal but with a delivered status unsure how far I could have gotten.

      Sad thing is, he did not insure but did go through PayPal G&S. Why you would send a headphone without insurance at that price is beyond me. So if USPS says they'll only pay up to a certain amount I'll settle it through PayPal and have him settle it with USPS.
