Tipping is really difficult for me in the US, I noticed that the default percentage has gone up quite a bit. I really like France and Italy where in a restaurant as a rule you do not tip

@penguins I like the half-way-between that's common in Australian cafes. Base wages are high enough to live on. No individual tipping. Tip jar on the counter split between all staff. Upside is that the back of house staff also benefit where they would otherwise miss out.

I refuse to tip at any restaurant that isn’t serving me fully: at my table. The only exception is a particular ice cream shop, where they *know* I tip, so they give us a little extra. I tip more than the extra ice cream’s worth, but it makes it pleasing experience for everyone.

Analyzing the Racing Form was one of his hobbies. All in all, he lost 2 grand over 20 years, which is pennies as hobbies go.

Well not the OTBs we are thinking of from NYC. These are all Racinos where they also have a Poker Room (where most of the money is made). Most of these places focus hard on poker since dog racing is no longer a thing in FL (where a lot of Racino used to get their money). I go in yesterday and boom the OTB room. Lack of people go in this room now.

I thought that was V-J Day (August 15th). The times were so publicly virtuous that they could call it V-J Day with a straight face.

@Claritas I have a profile post complaining about how the Zero 2 induced a headache on first listen, likely from all that low end lmao. I also agree that the upper mids make it hard to get usable volume range on them, but in a sense that means they're great low-volume IEMs which is better for hearing health anyway. Technicalities wise, definitely wildly good for the price.

@Lyander I wouldn’t listen to music with any of Crin’s stuff, for the reasons I’ve mentioned. I *would* use them for watching movies on an iPad. I’ve tried Zero Red & Zero 2. Z2 does have better technicalities. But ZR sounds more integrated amongst the frequencies. It also has a more premium feel in the hand. And its accessories are much better-made and, to me, more comfortable.

Oh I specifically got the Z2s to measure for fun and to give to siblings. Was curious so I did try them out, but they're not unseating the Andromeda 2020s. Haven't tried the ZR yet but honestly while I don't care for the voicing (genuinely headache inducing bass, the Z2), I feel it can be quite good for folks who are just getting into "nicer" gear. The ZR costs a fair bit more here.
