If you're going to use EQ then I'd say go for it! It sounds pretty nice w/ EQ to me (and pretty bad without). Add some bass, reduce the peak at 7~8k, and you should be good to go. Its comfort isn't the best though being on-ear, hurts my ear after an hour - another thing to consider.

Smart choice. I consider the Sine as part of the Apple ecosystem. And if you're not willing to go down that rabbit hole a bit (not judging), then its more wise to look elsewhere. There's some weird voodoo, witchcraft, juu juu going on with that Cypher, that's more then just equalization...

The point of totl gear should be that you have bought your way out. Nervosa should be the game in mid-fi.

Cap Nervosa (for me at least) was Sunday. Spent part of the afternoon today talking with @Melvillian about changing 7$ resistors on a $3K+ Amp.

If you know where you're coming from, where you want to go, and how you intend to get there, then it's not nervosa, it's just tweaking.

Well tbh, it seems to be the case for every massdrop/schiit product. I don't really believe in something being too good for the price.

@k4star ? I agree with most of your opinions. I did try schiit stuff and never liked anything outside the Yggdrasil A2. ECP T3 was not my cup of tea, Massdrop Plus was not good(which i posted), Focal Clears impressions mirror @bazelio's impressions on the loaner. I don't have headphones at the moment. Just pointing out a pattern which follows the graph you posted before your ban.

Unfortunately in this case entirely the opposite. Auditing ancient versions of apps that are no longer material to the business and have been swallowed in replatforming of source control systems is an exercise in pointless technicality. At least the M&Ms had a good raison d'etre.

When I got my Utopia I was convinced there was an LR imbalance, and a much steeper treble roll off on one channel. Off the back of the Tyll/Katz stuff I was all set to return. Took me a few days to realise my right ear wasn’t popping when I swallow, it was my damned eustachian tube acting up! Saved myself some embarrassment there.

I have, I shit you not, been content with my system for 3 consecutive months. With no sign of that changing. The only trouble is there’s less motivation to try new gear and tinker.

I'm with you. Have my eye on this mystery amp in March, but otherwise it's time to spend money on music again. My Amazon wishlist is growing rapidly.
