  whoa. on a whim i put the tips from my crappy kzn zsn pro x onto the OG Andromedas. They sound..pretty damn good! seems to fit ok too

    The Final E type tips just work. Spiral Dot++es are close, but they do work themselves loose eventually with me. I wish there were a Final E with a wide bore similar to the JVCs.
    
    And yeah the treble is a bit harsh, maybe because ESS I'm not sure, but I've got the Andro 2020s out of a BTR7 Bal out which is 2.8ohms. Works well.

    Ahh, interesting, I assume you needed to use an adapter? Also which 2C51? I used to like the WE 396a in the ZDT amp, nice detail and clarity and they are equivalent to 2C51...

    i got a bunch of tubes on loan (enormous thanks to @Gazny) . The one i tried yesterday is the RCA 2C51. Ya it needs an adapter. Has a great sense of soundstage and warm fluid sweetness to the sound. going to be rolling the amperex bugle boy 6922 today. At some point i may hunt down a pair WE396a again. I loved how it sounded on my MCTH before

    Ah i paired it with the LCD 2.1 Rev1 rosewood, and also the AFO v1. AFO is the best its ever sounded but LCD 2.1 is on a whole nother level. Makes me wonder if i should keep the LAuX now lol
