Any thoughts on whether the Sabre 32-bit volume control is actually mathematically (well, musically) lossless? Jun 17, 2018 at 11:27 AM

Ti Kan from AMB audio implemented digital volume control for his Gamma3 DAC and he claims he can't tell a difference.

Moved the sub forward a bit and it seemed to have a disproportionately large effect. Acoustics is a crazy field, so many variables.

yes, room acoustic is a real bitch. Ive removed all my furniture as any of those around my shl5+ affected the bass in room response.

Agreed, drove 8 hours to pick up an ebay sub today. Listening to it now after a couple of hours setup (more to do). A good sub is definitely the missing link in an otherwise decent standmount system.

Honestly, if they weren't the only streaming service to integrate with Roon I'd have ditched them ages ago. I'm also kind of pissed off that they're an advocate for MQA. I know a lot of people will think that's a good thing, but imho MQA can f*ck off and die, the sooner the better.

You have to admire Marvel for their long-term vision. They've got the franchise planned out 5-10 years in advance. I'm planning on treating the family to Infinity Wars in the next couple of weeks.

It's rare that I will sell something to someone without issuing a paypal invoice, shipping without insurance, etc - and that is in the CONUS. Overseas? Oh hell no. I also insure used items for their new price + shipping costs, not just market value.

      Hey Pedalhead,

I found a NOS Cary Xcite at a great price and was wondering if you would mind providing me with a big t more information on the amp. I use Abyss 1266 and Focal Clear aCans, one old stock R2R, and another R2R ladder dac in my System. Does the Xcite have enough juice for the Abyss? How about synergies?

      Best Regards,

      Kevin

I think the smart thing is to do some research, maybe find quotes from prominent musicians or critics about it, and address it clearly in the video.

Early 70's, had a BBC News friend who brought a Nagra portable home. Absolutely one of the most wonderful things I have ever touched! I sometimes see Air India recording concerts with Nagra digital boxes. Even they are about $4k each. The tape machines probably sell as antique artworks now
