I havent bought anything in a while. I am glad with what i have and have other things to focus on, which are family related, so, unfortunately, with the economy as it is, i can't invest like before (even if it was always in a moderate way).

Winter and spring are the busy times as people pre-spend for holidays or spend their tax refunds. Summer is slow due to vacations and no school, etc.

Does Sophia Electric still make any? EML made a version that uses a higher heater current (1.6A instead of 0.9A). KR is very hard to find but I still want to rebuy a pair I never should have given away.

KR who made the best ones. Overpriced. Unreliable. Limited production. No AC in factory during summer months so closed. When the wife took over from Mr. Kron, she didn't give a shit.

I was able to repair hd800 voice coils but it was very difficult, and not all could be fixed. I think if you're able to disassemble the driver it should be doable, although I don't know exactly what's gone wrong with the driver you have. Depending on the situation it might be just impossible.

I've been to Audio Sanctuary and got my HD800 pads/band there. It's a lovely shop!

But my HD800 headband is totally flat and hard again. Very poor.

I put the suede pilot pad from zmf on all my Senns headbands and take the stock foam out. So comfy

I'm wondering about gluing an hd600 padding to my old HD800. I'm yet to measure it, but suspect it might be a little too long. I got some third-party padding for my hd600, but can't find a similar alternative for the hd800 available here.

The USPS has also tried relentlessly to expand its services to stay modern and relevant. When Kinkos stores were a big thing the USPS proposed adding similar services to compete including computers with internet for public use but it was stopped by DC.

USPS is the only entity in the world with the prepaid pension provision. And yet they managed. Now certain parties would like to privatize the USPS and raid the pension fund because it is so HUGE.

Jesus these guys have no shame. A private postal service would likely charge 5$ to mail a letter. And would mean no more competition in the mail service. No, ups vs fedex is not competition. Prices would skyrocket for shipping costs of all kinds. How would that affect the economy????

I demoed one at the Sony store. It has quite dipped upper Mids, all the way from 1k to 4.3k was dipped quite a bit. Had a big dip from 3.5-4.1k which made it sound quite soft. Bass extention was not all that great only going down to about 34hz before dropping off a lot. Highs were quite nice and smooth with some extra energy at 8k and 10k but not irritating.

Parasound dac1600, it's going into a vintage integrated amp and a hp amp via balanced. Have tried both headroom and ecp dsha1and even 2 int amps with same issues.

Was emailing with ECP Doug and we determined it seems like the DAC has really high voltage out but is not producing enough current. I need to re-investigate maybe making pads/attenuators again, made some but divided too much voltage in the end. That switch would work but $100 worth for a DAC that is on a good day worth $400 :)

I thought I was the only one who'd made such a mistake.. I was under the impression my MacBook audio stack was busted for a year until I rediscovered the "Play as mono" accessibility setting.

I bought a few Miles Davis mono reissues from Record Store Day about 2012. Vivid reverb that filled the room. I was pretty shocked. Sketches of Spain imaged extremely well with all those players at once.

I know the reason why I originally flipped the switch, it was due to scooping a Mono record that I can't even recall anymore. For the life of me I probably only own 3 or so mono albums, I don't go out of my way to get them usually due to price/scarcity. Makes me wonder if I made any false judgment calls on that SQ for other records or gear. Can't say I could complain those 6 months at least!

Phonomena ii, with the virtuoso cart it's like blanket over the speakers bad. I swappend in at33ptg/ii and it greatly improved (alignment is it even possible? ?) The ergonomics of this table are kind of frustrating though.
