Is Rythmik servo tech worth premium over Ultimax kit? $900 vs $650 for DIY options for 15" sub capable of sub 17hz performance.

Any recommendations for reliable, but quiet PSUs? 650W range, fully modular, and preferably under $100 (as far under as I can get :))

@fraggler Yeah they seem to have rebranded their models. I was refering to the class of efficiency, by which they used to solely differentiate them. Gold may be sufficient too, have a look on silentpcreview.com (?).

Dunno if it’s still the case but Seasonic used to build the Corsair PSUs, the one I tried was good but the fan had an unpleasant noise characteristic. That was a long time ago, though.

Thanks, all. I used to have a Saeasonic way back in the day when I spent too much time on SPCR. My current Silverstone has been fantastic these last 10 years (!) With the exception of the fan failing twice. I kind of want to go back to Seasonic again.

How much overhead do you need? Using an online calculator, my current rig could max out around 450 and my potential upgrade system would hit 550. Would a Gold or Platinum rated 650 work?

For blurays, I think bluray.com and the usual A/V sites' reviews are fine. Dunno why but like somebody said here, even though most A/V sites are pretty deaf, they're not bad at reviewing the V.

I didn't know how much comparisons were made. There are so many releases (multiple Bluray releases, Anniversary releases, 4K transfers, remasters, etc.) that it is sometimes hard to track what has changed. I have some Blurays from the early days that are starting to degrade (can actually see it on the disc), and am trying to sort through my options.

Criterion releases are always top notch, if your movie is in their library. Bluray.com is pretty good for sussing out the various releases too. AVSforum might be worth a look too.

@fraggler If you rip using EAC or dbPoweramp you will rarely, and I mean that in the strictest sense, not end up with a bit perfect rip. I've ripped over a thousnd, and erring on the side of caution maybe 10 slowed EAC down noticeably, and I always ended up with a perfect FLAC rip.
