Anyone have a pair of Verite/BE2 pads I can borrow for a couple days? Apr 7, 2020 at 10:20 AM

It's always nice to go back to your roots. Korean ballad is still one of my favorite genre. Modern k-pop on the other hand...lol

I imagine some tourists here might know any number of local pop artists merely by virtue of how much airtime they all get, but I'd be surprised if they were very familiar with the Sunday music artists I listen to.

And yeah, that seems to be the general trend for pop music, but I feel like the stereotype is a bit stronger in America towards asian pop (Kpop, Jpop, etc). I'm actually quite happy and surprised @monacelli asked me for recommendations. I didn't think I would get much reception in SBAF in all places; just shows that we're all "music-lovers" in the end

I keep hearing that...I guess I should hear an A1 sometime. It must be the warm tubes+HD650 that are keeping the A2 perfectly euphonic for my tastes. Even does fine with the 600, really. Cool or clinical would never be a part of my description.

Roon would be right about Julieta Venegas, similar vibe, I'm a long time fan (been to a concert even)... I'm not familiar with the others, well, Lily Allen but she's not singing in Spanish AFAIK.

Just realized Emily Estefan is Gloria Estefan's daughter (duh) while Googling some of those, I'm a fan of her mother but it's not the same vibe.

For some reason I was thinking along the lines of female singers, anyway, more broadly I'd add Enanitos Verdes tho a bit more rock...

Also just realized how annoying it'd be to search for iLe or Bebe, look up Almadura & iLevitable for the former and Pafuera Telarañas for Bebe (that's the one I remember most anyway).

@schiit When you said "All current ones have DC sense" was there a running change? I bought mine within the first week of release. I suspected it might have damaged a pair of Clears last year, at the time I left them plugged in when turning the amp on and off. Now I wait for warm up turn volume all way down with no music playing to plug in to be safe.

I'm not looking for any sort of warranty/replacement of the Clears, the company I purchased them from took care of that. Curious if I should send the Lyr in to make sure it is okay and possibly updated to have the DC Sense? I haven't had any other issues with it, but I am very cautious about procedure for plugging headphones in. Thanks!

I was a premed kid in my undergrad years, but shifted into psychology for master's since I found it more interesting/suitable. The bulk of my med knowledge lies gathering dust on yellowed pages, far removed from sunlight :))

I still have a passing interest in medical news though, and enjoy reading cases. Just not up for cramming volumes of dry text into my brain. Mad respect for people in the field.

Well imo the world could always use more of both, just a matter of finding which one suits your temperament more yeah? Biology is cool! I always had fun in those classes, even if it was just the more rudimentary odds and ends thereof. Psych is an interesting field too, but given how it's not quite so cleanly cut as medicine at current knowledge there's as much touchy-feely as science involved in the practise, I think
