More plush so more easily worn out, beware of black powder, but comfort and slightly thicker lower end was a balm. Not sure if value proposition holds up with shipping to USA though.

HD414 pads are very cheap if ordered directly from Sennheiser. (I actually use them on my Porta Pros.) Best luck!

I'm biased, but I would add the MHA150. However, the longer I'm in this hobby, the more I believe that a TOTL rig is absolutely dependent on transducers, amp and source all balancing each other out.

@dematted I understand where you are coming from. However, thr Asgard 3 continues to impress me. I like it a lot with Verite and now HE6SE. I’m thinking of pulling my FS on HE6SE now.

Oh wow, someone better bite on that before you decide to pull it. It's a pretty good price, and I might have done so myself if I wasn't already knee-deep in headphones.

I use mine on a regular basis. Starlett is for when I want to visit my temple of sound and can't play my speakers.

With Verite it is indeed a poor man’s DHSA3F. I’m very, very impressed.

ZMF pad swapping is a detail oriented task. I researched and couldn’t find an answer.

I got a pair of BE2 pads from ZMF and they are slightly thicker than Verite pads and are covered with the Universe pad leather which is different than Verite leather. They also sound different than Verite pads. My BE2 pads have a foam dust cover.

@rtaylor76 Those who have their physical media stored there should already have them digitally. That was the idea of the business - they just store the physical media.

@Sqveak yeah I cannot imagine having a large, valued collection of physical media stored with them. Total disaster

Full bass with some rumble, timbre and thump but not one-notey; mids are "golden" (slightly warm, full and very slightly soft) as a result of the bass presence & tuning; treble is defined and present but does not dominate or extend much into sibilance or pierce; very little air. Choice of pads affects how neutral or 'golden' the sound is; choice of wood affects speed to a minimal degree.

Tendency to lay bass/mids on thick, cup reverb, some degree of "Japanese." More of a timbre thing for me; ZMFs sound nothing like my Focals from a timbre standpoint alone.

Careful with the Af mods man. It's said that some go crazy modding and vanish into thin air.

Vinyl? The only version I got is the early CD back in the 80s (not the blue border one). It's good but the tape they used on the CD has muddy bass.

I got the AP 33 1/3 version and it is fantastic. I haven’t heard that album sound so good.

Looking forward to impressions! That's one I'm terrified of demoing because it might well ruin me for other cans, haha. It's all a matter of preference, sure, but I'm easily impressed by improved resolution haha. Have fun!

Nothing wrong with really liking any piece of gear, but I think that sometimes it's easy for the gushing person to lose sight of the manufacture's vision for that product, and also easy for the reader to read such comments with that filter on. I've learned, so I try to be careful with what I post. Can't tell you the number of times I was writing something and then decided not to post.
