    Audizr? That really smooths the first ~500 Hz. Spectroid gets me closer to REW sweeps but it still isn't great.

    Audizr, but not there, it showed way more 5-8khz energy in room than was really there. I had cuts so deep, no wonder it sounded smoove, haha. My friend uses an app for iphone that is calibrated to its mic, results much better.

  My buddy is looking for a 2nd system dac and has eyes on Hugo 2 or Qutest or Border Patrol. Anyone with experience or has one to sell?

    People say Qutest is basically the H2 without HP amp and battery, and may actually be a bit better as pure DAC. If he doesn’t need the HP amp and portability, and considering the $ diff, I’d personally go with the Qutest among those 3 at least. The BP DAC is supposedly pretty smooth /euphonic if you really want that, but coloured as hell and fairly low-rez as far as I’ve read (+ measures like crap, if that matters)

    Qutest is a nice DAC and is generally available for 1200 in used market. You won't go wrong with it. It's little flexible with 1 to 3v line out. Border Patrol may need careful pairing with amp due to its very high output impedence but may have that dense tone of R2R DAC.
