I bought some 99.9% isopropyl for soldering. Now looking like I can use it as disinfectant.

@Cspirou "The disinfectant thing was a joke"

I keep a bottle on my desk. Originally, it was the vinyl-cleaning solution, but it is a long time since I played records. Now it is used as a general purpose cleaner, eg for spectacles, but I do use it as a disinfectant. If, for example, I kill a mosquito on my skin, I spray and wipe off. Also, cleaning clinical thermometers etc.

I have a 5.5g iPod with a big SD card that lives in my Jeep. Unlike any of the several Chinese DAPs I’ve tried it works perfectly with the garbage Chrysler head unit.

I've been thinking about fermenting peppers and then drying them to see what fermented pepper flakes are like. I reckon you want Jalapenos for flakes probably, but it couldn't hurt (hahaha) to try it out if you have an abundance of scotch bonnets.

Jalapeños are hard to come by in France. Which is too bad since I consider them ideal for whole fermentation. Quite spicy, but just mild enough where they can be eaten whole.

What are your thoughts? I assume it's the implementation and quality of the driver/amp that matters more. For what it's worth, in my office system the Rhythmik L12 spanks the Dayton SUB-1200, but that's probably not a fair fight. :)

@zonto - I figure proper design is what matters. If JBL is producing a +$20k speaker that's ported, I assume they aren't doing it for cost cutting.

Someone tried telling me that ALL ported speakers are just them trying to cheap out of adding an additional driver and are inherently flawed.

I met a few guys who were heavy into stats at the last ZMFestivus and one of these was available. They were probably more proud and excited about these than the Stax they had. Unfortunately, the amp these were supposed to be attached to had to have the bias switched or something so I missed my chance to hear them. They were reasonably comfortable and normal on the head which is a first for estats.

I guess that depends, with reading in the bathroom, what are you distracting yourself from? youre just sitting there, reading seems reasonable. with music at work I can agree, it depends on your usage, for me I cant listen to music with alot of what I do, but sometimes I do something relatively mindless and listen to music as the main event

Tilts more metal, but Cynic's Focus might be worthwhile. Perhaps the first two Mars Volta records if you're feeling adventurous and want some Afro-Cuban influence mixed in.
